from 11am to 1pm PST
This is an interactive, online workshop that will be on Zoom.
All participants will be emailed a link to access the workshop 2 days prior to the event.
This workshop is inspired by weft-looping techniques that date back to cloths from 2,000 BCE found at Deir-el-Bahari. We will experiment with a continuous loop pile weave structure to create a densely packed fabric. Participants are encouraged to play with textured yarn and color combinations, as well as unconventional materials, such as: fabric strips, plastic bags, or other yarn-like materials.
The primary techniques I will cover include:
Continuous loop pile weaving
Weaver’s knot
Finishing a weaving
Objectives
Understanding the fundamentals of continuous weft pile weaving
Exploring color theory with fiber material
Class fee is $75 for this three-hour, live online workshop.*
*I will be donating 10% of all workshop proceeds to Able ARTS Work.
Limited seats available.
