About the artist
Patricia is a materials-based artist making work that visually explores contemporary constructs of domesticity and professional life. She is also an art educator and this activity influences her work as well; communal activities often lead to generative ideas that emerge organically in collective actions with the public. Her process is slow and time is required to understand and build the knowledge that emerges. Her practice, guided by a search for balance, reflects on questions of accumulation, repetition, and trust in the process.
About the workshop:
The work Circulos de Confianza | Trust Circles refers to a practice of gathering in a community to craft, converting the quotidian into a vibrant exchange of ideas, emotions, and experiences. There is a transformative, liberating aspect to this practice, which can be described as collective self-expression. Following this practice, the artist will share how she works with porcelain and offer materials for the participants to work with and make their own creations.
